Since Colmcille's monks built their first monastery in northwest Ireland in the 6th century, there are few people who cherished Derry more than the late John Bryson - who knew its every corner so well.

Derry's Streets is the legacy of a life of profound study, which saw the historian spend decades sifting through ancient archives in London, Dublin, Belfast and, of course, Derry. It is a lyrical monument, which could only have been created by a writer who loved his subject.
